Group Support for Corrections Committee

Click here to be taken to the Worcester Area Intergroup page on corrections. This page includes the “pre-release A.A. contact form” for individuals transitioning from incarceration.

In cooperation with the Worcester Area Intergroup, the District Corrections Committee works to help bring the AA message to the Worcester House of Corrections.

If you or others in your group are interested in helping support our efforts bringning meetings “behind the walls”, we are looking for volunteers! We currently facilitate two meetings every Thursday from 6pm-7pm. We read and discuss the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous with inmates. A working knowledge of the Big Book is helpful but not required.

To volunteer, a Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) background check and an orientation required for access to the facility. You can download the volunteer form here. Note that past incarcerations does not necessarily disqualify you from volunteering.

For those interested in becoming more involved in supporting A.A. groups taking their messages of experience, strength and hope into corrections facilities, we invite you to join us at the monthly Area 30 corrections committee meeting on the fourth Thursday of each month online at 7:00pm.

If you are interested in learning more or have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us via email: d25corrections@aaworcester.org.
